Promo codes for DreamHost: “mine is bigger” November 9, 2006

Today I was surfing through Digg and I found some guy deceiving people, stating that his promo code was the best and that 1 year of hosting at DreamHost would cost $7 with his discount coupon.
That is simply not true! So I went to all the places where he posted that at Digg, and told the truth about these promo codes. What people do for money!
And he isn’t the only one. Some others say that their coupon code gives more and so on.
So lets write the truth, shall we?
Most people that read those threads don’t know that these are affiliate codes, and think that they expire. They do not.
DreamHost gives you $97 for referring a person, and you can share that discount with them. So $97 is the maximum discount you can give. People will earn $0 for direct commissions. So why do they promote these codes? Because if you refer other people, we get $5 each time you get a sale.
Don’t be deceived by people that say: “my code is better than yours”. The truth is all $97 discount codes are equal, and are the best available.
All others ($90, $87, $50 will just give money to the code’s owner).
Mine is MAXIMUMPROMO and it’s equal to other true $97 discount promos: DH97PROMOCODE, MAXI97, etc. There are dozens of them all around the internet.
The name doesn’t matter! You can choose the name you want. So always confirm that the discount DreamHost is giving you is really $97!
Some people think that these promo codes are a scam. They are not, if you see that you are really getting that discount when you are signing up.
So be careful with the promo code you choose…
